immersed<br \/>\nin piles of Maple leaves<br \/>\nsleep in this amber glow<br \/>\nuntil Squirrel stops scolding<br \/>\nand even Wren becomes brave<\/p>\n<p>I will dream as I bathe<br \/>\nin her melodious song<br \/>\nas wild Wolves return<br \/>\na flow of grey<br \/>\nwhispers in the woods<br \/>\nrunning<\/p>\n<p>I will watch Salmon struggle home<br \/>\nfrom their ocean run<br \/>\nas glistening Bears dine<br \/>\non river-gifts<br \/>\nand the great rains come<\/p>\n<p>I will give thanks<br \/>\nfor the unfathomable<br \/>\nconnection of it all<br \/>\nthis balance of give and take<br \/>\ndeath and birth<br \/>\nsummer fruits fading<br \/>\ninto rich black earth<\/p>\n<p>I will burst open<br \/>\nwith the sweet grief<br \/>\nof knowing<br \/>\nmy smallness in this world<br \/>\nthen slowly trace<br \/>\na sinuous path home<\/p>\n<p>Returning<br \/>\nI will step lightly<br \/>\nsilent as the moon<br \/>\ngolden leaves in my pockets<br \/>\nchlorophyll in my veins<br
