{"id":1143,"date":"2018-03-04T12:04:46","date_gmt":"2018-03-04T20:04:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ecopsychology.org\/gatherings\/?p=1143"},"modified":"2018-03-04T12:04:46","modified_gmt":"2018-03-04T20:04:46","slug":"mental-vitality-assessing-the-impact-of-a-walk-in-the-woods","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ecopsychology.org\/gatherings\/mental-vitality-assessing-the-impact-of-a-walk-in-the-woods\/","title":{"rendered":"Mental Vitality: Assessing the Impact of a Walk in the Woods"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In this article, Mark Bowen presents an abridged version of his 2016 doctoral thesis entitled, &#8220;Mental Vitality: Assessing the Impact of a Walk in the Woods&#8221;.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The thesis attends to a\u00a0gap in literature\u00a0pertaining to studying nature and late adolescence.\u00a0 In particular, Dr. Bowen mentioned that &#8220;this study measured one aspect of mental vitality, that of mental acuity in 16-18 year old students at an international school.
