\"native-american4\"<\/a>A man stands on open ground.\u00a0 His arms stretched wide, his chest lifted, his head tossed back.\u00a0 Facing skyward he hangs by the spider threads of creation.\u00a0 He hangs by mere light beams of the sun.<\/p>\n

Nobody forgets this young man.\u00a0 Nobody forgets the earth warrior.\u00a0 He watches over the continent of Turtle Island.<\/p>\n

Elders gather to chant and remember.\u00a0 Women come around making circle, to wail and moan, and to shed tears.\u00a0 Children stand by, silent in awestruck wonder.<\/p>\n

The peoples\u2019 eyes are on face of the young man.\u00a0 The peoples\u2019 eyes are looking into the earth warrior.\u00a0 A cry goes out over the land, and is answered by rumbling thunder.<\/p>\n

Facing skyward, ribbons of shadow, like cords of leather, paint dark stripes of ages and ancestry across his body\u2014shadows lashing the glow of golden skin. He hangs by light beads clinging to threads of whispers.<\/p>\n

Sun comes down now, parenting to dance within him.\u00a0 People are like straw before this vision.\u00a0 People are like candles in the wind.<\/p>\n

Nobody forgets this young man.\u00a0 Nobody forgets the earth warrior.\u00a0 He watches over the continent of Turtle Island.<\/p>\n

When moon is full, when moon spills over, the dancer dreams.\u00a0 When dawn returns, he walks the Earth.\u00a0 In those footsteps, blood of sacrifice.\u00a0 In those footsteps, sweat of suffering.\u00a0 In those footsteps, brightness of the Red Path rekindles.\u00a0 In those footsteps, offerings, and sweetness of honey.<\/p>\n
