{"id":997,"date":"2017-09-02T16:16:52","date_gmt":"2017-09-02T23:16:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ecopsychology.org\/gatherings\/?p=997"},"modified":"2017-09-02T16:22:59","modified_gmt":"2017-09-02T23:22:59","slug":"principles-of-cultural-ecoresilience","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ecopsychology.org\/gatherings\/principles-of-cultural-ecoresilience\/","title":{"rendered":"Principles of Cultural Ecoresilience"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Linda Buzzell and Craig Chalquist, <em>co-editors of Ecotherapy: Healing with Nature in Mind<\/em>, present principles of Ecoresilience as guidance for people adjusting to a world in the midst of change. \u00a0Their preamble speaks to the need for balance now and in the coming era if we hope, as persons and communities, to maintain a focused pace of working towards ecological restoration and to retain our individual and collective resilience despite the widespread effects of ecological imbalance:<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>&#8220;It\u2019s pretty clear what isn\u2019t working, but not so easy to envision the practicalities of a sustainable world that\u00a0could really work. Craig Chalquist and I have been wrestling with this, and have developed 20 ecoresilience\u00a0principles for personal and cultural adaptation to a changed planet. We\u2019ve gathered wisdom from many\u00a0sources, including the nature-based permaculture principles, ecopsychology<strong>,<\/strong> ecotherapy, ecospirituality,\u00a0community building endeavors, indigenous wisdom, the <\/em><em>arts<\/em><em><strong>,<\/strong> and depth psychology.
